kiveo Back Story Contest

New contest!

Objective:

The proper noun 'kiveo' is a name we made up. It is pronounced kih-vee-oh (with a short i, long e, long o).  We need a grandiose backstory. Preferably something involving a grandparent, overcoming adversity and a dying Amazonian (or Papua-New Guinean) rain forest shaman's last wishes.  Ok, maybe that's shooting too high, but we'll take what we can get.

Prizes:

The first prize winner will receive a kiveo tshirt and a kiveo SIGG water bottle. Second and third prize winners will receive kiveo tshirts.  May the best writer/author/producer/you-know-what-you-are win!

How to enter:

Completely original works must be submitted via email to backstory@kiveo.net prior to 11:59 PM Eastern Time Sunday, January 31st, 2010. Entries received after the cutoff date will not be considered.  Your email must contain the following information:

  • Name (First and Last)
  • Email address
  • Telephone number

Entries may be submitted in person or via mail (sorry, we won't pay for a COD!) at:

kiveo, LLC
133 N Trade Street
Tryon, NC 28782

Entries submitted in person or via mail must be made on CD, DVD or USB removable media and contain seperately attached material (either an electronic or physical document) with the above entry information. Entries submitted in person or via mail must be received by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Monday, February 1st, 2010.

No personally identifying information will be made public, unless your winning entry includes such material.

Should your submission via email fail (our server can handle pretty big attachements, so don't worry too much about size), shoot us an email to backstory@kiveo.net with the subject "Email Fail" with your contact information and we'll set up an alternative method for delivering your entry.

Rules:

  1. Must be an original work, unencumbered by copyrighted materials.
