A Coda Panic
So, we've been using the most amazing editor ever, Coda by Panic Software for a little over six months. Amazing, rock solid and well, amazing. This site you're viewing, built in Coda. We heart it...real hard.
I'm not here to write a review and gush on how it makes my every day easier. If you search Google (or here...I'll do it for you), you'll get more gushing than I am humanly capable of producing. I'm a guy. Sorry.
I'm here today to address an issue we found today in the hopes that it will assist at least one other person using this amazing software. My co-worker Miles decided that Coda was taking too long to open a file that he accidentally selected. Being the astute gentleman he is, he shelled into the server and found that the file was pretty large and since it was a log file, he'd just delete it. *POOF!* File gone. *ZANG!* Coda hung. Frozen. Wanting its file back.
Coda, being the amazing program it is, re-establishes your last connection on load and re-downloads the last files you were working on so that you can come and go from the program as you choose. This is a problem when the last file you tried to download disappeared mid-download and hung the program. Because it happens again. And again and the program just does not complete its loading process.
The resolution to the problem is located in:
~/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/Coda/
If you delete the offending un-downloaded file from this cache, the program will work on the next launch. We hope you don't spend 5 hours without your favorite editor like we did.
